Health Literacy

Clear messaging for healthier citizens

Using new media applications and the Center for Health Literacy, we apply best practices to improve health outcomes for the Canadian public.

Health literacy is "the ability to access, understand and act on information for health", according to the Canadian Public Health Association. A significant proportion of Canadians have limited literacy, but being in pain, ill or anxious makes accessing information more difficult, even for more literate people.

Working with our health literacy experts will help you:

  • Communicate with diverse populations
  • Help citizens to make informed decisions about their health
  • Protect citizens from making inappropriate and expensive use of health services
